What is Art Therapy?
" Art Therapy is a very unique and creative manner of therapy using all kind of art in which you connect in a wonderful way with yourself through creating your own art. It can include different creative methods as there are painting, drawing, sculpture,... using all our senses. " Creating something = opening unique doors to the mind in another way that speech does. Using all our senses in art therapy is unique and helps us much faster in our healing process. When feeling depressed, not knowing what to do anymore, which path to take, how to feel... art therapy is a wonderful solution that will make you start feeling much better again. Specially but certainly not only for people who have difficulties opening themselves, their worries, fears… Art, being creative, helps them enormously! Even when you are not into art, we find ways to have an 'arty' beginning point. During the process I see people making a hugh progress in a different way than normal counseling. Using creativity gives us all unique insights. In the end of the process, people also end up with a wonderful piece of art with lots of memories attached to it.
